So, my computer isn’t letting me upload pictures right now, and that is sad. But I’ve started playing WoW again, and this time it is on a roleplaying server. I just made a new character “Metalic Ice IV” and I’ve decided to keep a journal for her. Then I decided it would be fun to share it with whoever is interested. So here it goes: A Warlock’s Journal

Hi mom!

I hope that when you get this you will see that I’m out on my own experimenting just like you told me I should do. I left Ironforge this morning, just like you told me to. I didn’t take anything, not even the steam powered winter coat you gave me when I was nine. Just me, the road, and the clothes on my back.

I forgot how cold it is outside the city! I never really liked the lava flows in Ironforge, but halfway to Coldridge Valley I found myself missing them a lot. It’s okay though. As soon as I got to the valley I met this really nice Dwarf, his name was Sten, and he told me that he would make me some really warm winter gloves. So I went into the valley and found some wolf pelts. When I brought them back Sten was as good as his word, I really like the gloves he gave me. He even put my initials on the fingers.

I like Sten.

Sten’s friend Balir says that he will make me some really warm winter boots too if I kill some Troggs for him. I’ve never seen a Trogg before. I hope they aren’t scary.

It’s really cold outside, and Sten says that some guy has been asking for me. Someone by the name of Alamar Brimm or something. I don’t know what he wants, but he is inside, so I’m going to go get warm.

I miss your hot chocolate mints.

Love,

Metalic Ice.

I leveled my cooking skill up to 13 today when I made chocolate no bake cookies. These cookies are a concoction that mixes chocolate, peanut butter, and oatmeal into a delicious cookie that requires no oven time at all… which was good since the cooking skill only allows me to use a handy camp fire to cook with! Obviously WoW doesn’t have wax paper either… but I just used some bark from a near by tree for the cookies to dry out on. It didn’t work quite as well… but it was definitely a delicious use of my time.

nobakecookieFor all of you who’d like to level your cooking skills up as well, here is the recipe:

2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons peanut butter
3 cups quick oats
  1. In large saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk, cocoa and salt. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Continue boiling 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and peanut butter; stirring until peanut butter is melted. Add oats and mix well.
  3. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand until firm. Store tightly covered.

Makes about 3 dozen.
Have a delicious day!

This music video is entitled Wrought, and it was put together by Cranius and Legs. I found it on WoW Insider. This is an almost epic story of love, loss, and the willingness to come back even from death for the one you love. I won’t tell you how it ends… that would ruin it. The timing on this video is amazing, everything links up perfect. Also, I don’t know if they were using actual Wow footage or not, I don’t imagine they were, but everything looks amazing, and the depth of emotion the models show is heart wrenching.

Wow. And now, I don’t mean the MMO. Not this time. In fact, now I speak of a different MMO.

Here is Ether Saga, a free MMO for all those who want to play. I know what you are thinking: “Free MMO! Those always suck!” And most of the time you’d be right. Before now I’ve never played a free MMO that I’ve even come close to appreciating.Ether Saga Character Page copy

But this one is a little bit different.  The plot for the game is not all that great, something about being some sort of Chinese God of the Zodiac trying to save the world. But who plays MMOs for plot? I spend hours on World of Warcraft… and that hardly has a plot at all!

From the second I started creating my character I knew Ether Saga Petthat this game would offer more than I would ever expect from a free game. First of all, it’s adorable. Sometimes people complain about WoW being to cartoony, and if you are one of those people then stop reading here. But if you like absolutely adorable graphics with pretty special effects and incredibly cute pets, then read on.

Ether Saga BattleThe game play is similar to WoW… although not quite as good. Monsters tend to stand around in clumps waiting for you to kill them, at least so far. But every moment of the game is full of cuteness… and the graphics are surprisingly good for free. Also… the dance emot is so much better than World of Warcraft’s. If you decide to find me I am on the East Coast server. Character name is Elizanora.

This rust colored ice dragon is my new life mission… I hope I live a really, REALLY long life. I’ll need it.

BTW… I found this video here.

I’ve recently decided that I shouldn’t feature things from boing boing too much on my blog, because lets face it, most of my readers probably read boing boing more than they read me. I don’t really need to repeat myself… but this video fits the theme of my blog so well. And it’s hillarious, and probably worth watching twice.

What is the best part about playing Wow? It’s getting new stuff… and there’s nothing better than getting a new mount.

Who says riding dinosaurs is no fun? Jenny… if you’re out there dinosaurs made me think of you!
